Stockroom has been designed as a space for everybody and anybody, with a variety of different areas suitable for our wide-ranging programme and it’s also available to hire. All the revenue raised from hires goes back into supporting what we do, helping us to provide many of our events and activities for free.

Stockroom Studios
Stockroom Studios is our dedicated mixed-use events space, located on the first floor.
An airy, flexible space with access to a spacious outdoor balcony, it can be configured in many ways to perfectly support a wide range of different events and activities including meetings, presentations, classes, screenings, performances, gigs, parties, functions, rehearsals and filming.
Complete with 120 seats, 30 tables, surround sound system, two projectors, DJ decks, and much more, the space can accommodate up to 200 guests (standing) and 120 (seated). It also has a bi-folding door, meaning it can be split into two for more intimate events or to create a separate breakout space.

Food and drink
Our catering team can provide a range of different options for your event. Please include any catering requirements when completing your contact form.

FAQs about hiring our spaces
What are Stockroom’s opening hours?
- Monday, Tuesday and Saturday 10am to 5pm
- Wednesday to Friday 10am to 7pm
- Sunday and Bank Holidays 11am to 4pm
Can events take place outside of standard opening hours?
Depending on requirements bookings can be taken for events that run out with Stockroom’s usual opening hours. We are very open to providing early and late access to support your event but please note that additional charges may apply to cover our own extra costs to accommodate this.
When do we get access to the space we have booked?
Bookings include the entire time you will have access to the space so please factor in any time you will need before and after your event so that the booking timings reflect this. We know that last minute things come up so we will try and be as flexible as possible with access on the day but may have another booking in prior to or after yours that prevents us extending your time.
Can we bring our own catering or refreshments?
We have the best of both world’s here at Stockroom in that we have an onsite café and bar that can provide you with a wide range of great food and drinks options for your event. On the other hand we are open to you bringing in outside catering. Please discuss your requirements with us!
How do we get to Stockroom? Is there parking near by?
Stockroom is located right in the centre of Stockport with excellent public transport links by train and bus. If you are driving to us then there are several parking options including a large NCP car park right next door that has over 1100 spaces! More information is available on our visit us page.
Is Stockroom accessible?

How far in advance do we need to book a space?
While contacting us as far in advance as you can gives you more chance of us having a space available to host your event, it’s always worth checking with us even if its last minute as we will try and accommodate you if we can!
Can I come and see the spaces available?
Yes of course, we’d love the chance to show you around our beautiful spaces! As we’re a public building you are welcome to pop in any time but please remember that spaces may be in use for another event or activity so it’s best to contact us in advance and we can advise you on a time to visit when you can have access to the space, and one of the team can give you their full attention to answer questions and provide information.
