Join International artist Parham Ghalamdar for a series of 3 creative workshops, inspired by the National Year of Reading. Together, you’re invited to collaborate with Parham on a new artwork ‘Subtitles for a Film That Does Not Yet Exist’.

At these workshops, collective reading becomes filmmaking. You’re invited to join Parham to share your favourite quotes and to uncover the stories hidden underneath the words. By exploring what a text doesn’t say — the gaps, the jumps, and what is left out— we will begin to transform those hidden moments into the subtitles for a film that doesn’t exist yet.

In this 90-minute workshop, we will uncover the hidden scenes in your favourite quotes, passages and paragraphs. It’s playful, accessible and designed for anyone curious about storytelling, whether you’re a seasoned writer or someone who hasn’t picked up a pen in years.

No pressure, no perfection — just simple prompts, supportive guidance and plenty of room to experiment. You can bring your own text or use the materials provided. You can write, speak, collaborate or improvise. Every contribution adds something meaningful.
