LGBT+ History Month Double Portraits

Wednesday 11 February 2026 - From 11:30am

As part of our LGBT+ History Month Programme, join us on Wednesday for a free all-ages double portrait craft session, inspired by David Hockney’s Portrait of Christopher Isherwood and Don Bachardy! Join us in the living room after our Weekly Story time from 11:30AM - 1PM.

The joint portrait of Christopher Isherwood and his partner, painter Don Bachardy, was the first double portrait by Hockney, painted in 1968. He went on to paint a series of seven double portraits, including the iconic ‘Portrait of an Artist’.
