Carnival of Art

To celebrate the creativity of Stockport’s young people on display in the Beautiful Things and Saturday Town exhibition, Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery and Stockroom are joining forces to bring you a vibrant Carnival of Art — a joyful parade and creative celebration uniting Stockport’s newest and oldest art centres.

Parade Details
Starts: 1:45pm Stockroom
Ends: Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery at 2:45pm where there will be a special children and young people’s Beautiful Things exhibition preview

Workshop Dates
Leading up to the parade, join us for creative sessions to make your own wearable art:

• 8 Oct, 4–7pm @ Stockroom – Take Action Together Wearable Art Workshop
• 4 Oct 10:30 – 12:30pm @ Whatif – Cape Creations Workshop
• 11 Oct, 10am–1pm @ Stockroom – Take Action Together Together Wearable Art Workshop
• 11 Oct 11-2pm @ ARC – Hatworks – Happy Hats Workshop
• 11 Oct 12 - 4pm @ War Memorial Art Gallery – Self Portrait Workshop

This is a collaboration between Stockroom, Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery and we will be joined by our friends ARC, Whatif?, Global Grooves, and Take Action Together. This is part of the programme to celebrate the centenary of Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery.
