Wheelchair access
The whole building is fully accessible for wheelchair users with even flooring and no additional steps on each floor. The foyers are very spacious and allow for easy movement through the building.
Stairs and lifts
There are two floors in total in the building, ground floor and first floor. The first floor is accessible via a wide staircase with a handrail on either side or via a spacious lift located beside the staircase.
Toilets
Located directly outside Stockroom on the ground level in Adlington Walk there are:
- separate blocks of single sex toilets
- children’s toilets
- all gender toilets
- baby changing facilities in each of the blocks of single sex toilets
- accessible toilets
Other toilets
Located on the first floor within Stockroom:
- all gender individual fully contained toilet cubicles
- accessible toilet & baby change
Changing places
Our Changing Places space is located on the ground floor in the adjoining Adlington Walk area of the Merseyway shopping centre.
To access the Changing Places space, please let the Merseyway shopping centre bathroom attendant know so they can assist you.
Our Changing Place space has a hoist, an adjustable-height sink, a changing bench, privacy screen, stoma shelf, support handrails, and an accessible hand-drier.
Public facilities
Relax in our public spaces during opening hours. Please note that tables in our café may be limited during busy periods.
Our additional facilities include:
- hot and cold water is freely available from our café, and you can also refill your water bottle. free public access Wi-Fi
- charge your mobile phone for free if a power socket is available
- our team can make emergency calls for you
- public phone to contact council services for free
- pram store located in the Children’s Library
- parents are welcome to breastfeed wherever they want to
Quiet space
There is access to a prayer/quiet room in the adjoining Adlington Walk area of the Merseyway shopping centre.
Flashing images and strobe lighting
On rare occasions our events or activities many include elements such as flashing images or strobe lights. If this is the case, we will always include this information on the event page on our website and will clearly display advisory signage within the building. Speak to a member of the Stockroom team if you require any advice on any element of our events or activities.
